STORY

Breton Fishing Heritage Since 1959

26-bg-img-430x292-GO-06-1

The sardine is a migratory fish, so its fishing is seasonal. The cannery has always followed the calendar dictated by this prized fish.

To be canned, it must be the “ideal size," neither too big nor too small.

Sardines appear on the Breton coast at the beginning of spring. We work with the purse seiners of Concarneau to ensure the freshness of the fish.

Gonidec also processes other species highly prized for their unparalleled flavor. Always prioritizing fresh fish, we are dependent on fishing and the weather.

Gonidec – The Sardine

The preserves are enhanced with the finest oils, including extra virgin olive oil and Muscadet white wine.

The seasonings and vegetables used in some of the specialties are all-natural. No artificial flavorings are used in their preparation.
